ABOUT DOORS OPEN WIDE ACTIVITIES
PURPOSE, FUNCTION AND ACTIVITIES OF
DOORS OPEN WIDE
Doors Open Wide is a ministry that is established and founded on the love of Jesus to provide shelter and training for young moms that do not have a safe place to stay or call home. Whether a pregnant or young mom is homeless, couch surfing, kicked out of home or simply needs a safe place to live, our ministry is here to help! Doors Open Wide provides for all the necessities in life such as shelter, food, clothing and toiletries.
We use Christ's love to provide spiritual help, continuing education, parenting classes, cooking skills, Bible classes, job skills and personal finance management. The ministry equips moms with all the skills necessary to successfully function in society whether they are keeping the child after birth or pursuing adoption. More importantly, we are discipling them in the victorious principles of the Kingdom of God that will give them the opportunity to maintain a successful way of experiencing life through Jesus Christ.
Furthermore, Doors Open Wide is a program for young mothers in need. We have developed steps or "Phases" to adequately minister to our residents and help them on their life-skilled journey to becoming productive citizens to our community.
A day for the moms at Doors Open Wide would include Bible devotions, prayer, learning how to cook a nutritious meal, feeding and caring for farm animals, learning how to bake, canning, attend a class on parenting, learning to use a spreadsheet to manage finances, learning how to quilt or sew, attend an encouragement session with our pastor and his wife, and playing games with other moms.
