MEET THE TEAM

Dennis and Mari were married October 31st, 2008 in Dallas, Texas. They are parents of 3 children in their twenty's. In 2014, they visited friends Steve and Kay Cassell, whom they met while living in Texas. After living in Carpentersville, Illinois for about 2 years, Dennis and Mari were soon to be empty-nesters and wanted to know what they were to supposed to do next in life.
On the last warm day in November, Dennis asked his wife to go on a ride in their convertible. She agreed and they headed out to visit their friend's, Steve and Kay Cassell, Pastors and Founders of Beloved Church Pearl City, Lena and Freeport. They were posed with a question: if you had all the money in the world, what would you like to be doing right now? There was no question that they had a heart to serve God's kingdom. Their answer: "buy a big house and fill it with kids, pregnant women, and/or whatever the need in the community would be."
This opened their eyes and heart to begin their search for this house that would be perfect for doing such a thing. Every weekend going forward they traveled to Pearl City for church and after service the search was on, looking for their ministry home. Finally, in May, they found that perfect home. Formally known as the Extreme Home Makeover House in Lena, the thirteen-acre farm house was purchased by the Harvey's and their ministry took off. In November of 2014, Dennis and Mari had their open house where their Doors were Open Wide to the public so they could see all of what was to be of this community ministry. Approximately 250 people came through the home to visit. Five days later, they received their first homeless mom.

Since their opening, they have housed many moms and helped to plant the love of Jesus Christ in many lives. This privately funded home is equipped to house at least six moms at one time. The Harvey's expect to have several homes in the near future, all founded to help with the housing of homeless teens, foster children, recovering addicts, abused women, and any other community members in need.

"God is no respecter of persons to whom His love will impact, and we are his vessels to reach all who we can for the kingdom of God! We are so blessed to do God's work and help all those in need of a new start. A special thanks to our Beloved Church Family and our community".
